One of the questions I get all the time from Brides is, should I get a bridal session? A bride in her wedding dress and no wedding schedule attached equals a great time to creatively use light and photograph you in your dress in ways I normally can not shoot on a wedding day. This allows me to photograph a complete portfolio with multiple styles and allowing to create the latest trends in bridal photography.

Any one that has been married will tell you that your wedding day will be a blur. The great thing about bridals, even if you don’t plan to have a portrait on display the day of your wedding, is that we know going into your wedding that we have you and your dress covered when things get behind schedule on your wedding day.

“Lifestyle Wedding Photography”

Lifestyle Wedding Photography may be a bit difficult to define as there is not a industry standard definition. In fact, I do not know of anyone that refers to a wedding photography style to as “Lifestyle Wedding Photography” in itself. I do and here is why. I am a multiple-style photographer. I do not tend to stay in one style of photography but rather photograph several different styles at the same time. For me, lifestyle wedding photography is an attitude, a flexibility, a way to create individual styles that reflect the personalities of my clients. Therefore, it is fluid, free flowing and not bound by any “one” look. That’s why you will see a blend of styles on my website. It is about me creating with your style or “lifestyle,”not just shooting mine. There is a lot that goes into style. Take a little time to read about styles and how I see them.

Lifestyle Weddings is about you, your story, life in the everyday. It is about capturing your wedding and personality in a free-flowing process that allows for your story to “happen.’” It gives me the freedom to do what I do… CREATE. Lifestyle wedding photography has the freedom to be any style, a mix of styles, but most importantly, about you in real life moments and how I see it. Natural Light Photography

A lot of photographers refer to themselves as natural light photographers So what is natural light photography? Natural light in photography is any source of light that is created by the sun. Natural light is the most basic form of light there is. The quality and amount of light present depends on different variables, most notably the weather and the time of day. As light changes throughout the day so will the light source and style of the photography.

Artificial Light photography is any light source that is not naturally occurring from the sun, moon and stars. Some basic artificial light sources include flash photography, continuous lighting, street lights, indoor lighting, candles, or other man-made light sources.

Light & Airy Photography Style

Light and airy photos are created by using low contrast and flat lighting to soften and minimize shadows. This is done in both camera and post production. This can create softer and often more flattering wedding, bridal and engagement photography portraits as fewer shadows also reveal fewer blemishes. Colors in light and airy photos typically fall on the lighter and more neutral side.

Cinematic Photography Style

Cinematic photography is a style that is created with rich, warm, deep colors and shadows. This style of photography often has a dramatic, mysterious, or powerful feeling. The light source being either natural light or artificial light plays a large role in the creative process. The addition of post processing also play a large role in cinema photography style.

Cinematic photography is a style of photography that emulates movie scenes or style if cinemaphotography. It is a creative method in storytelling that can create images with depth and feeling

North Carolina Creative Wedding Photographers

My hands are on every image from start to finish. It is my creativity, artistry, and intent that make your pictures. There is so much more than adjusting a few settings in camera that go into making your pictures... Much of what you see on my website is finished in post production. For example, I will photograph certain scenes with different cameras and technique to give me what I need in post production to create what I was thinking on scene. I create in-camera for specific picture styles that need to be created in the post process.

For me, handing my pictures over to someone else for post production just does not feel right. I can not expect another person to finish what I saw, felt and intended to create on scene. Especially when I photograph for creative style such as black and white where I might keying in on a small detail or shadow that needs to be enhanced a certain way in the post production process. They would not have the same attachment, responsibility, or intrinsic value that I have when creating something that I started..read more….
